Things We Love About Japan

Japan is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean with dense cities, imperial palaces, mountainous national parks and thousands of shrines and temples. Shinkansen bullet trains connect the main islands of Kyushu (with Okinawa’s subtropical beaches), Honshu (home to Tokyo and Hiroshima’s atomic-bomb memorial) and Hokkaido (famous for skiing). Tokyo, the capital, is known for skyscrapers, shopping and pop culture.

Our sister Sam is currently living there teaching abroad. Here are some photos from her recent travels and experiences.

I can not get over the fact on how cute this bunny is and I got it for just ¥100 in the claw machine!

Say what!? The American Cherry Pie drink at Starbucks. Only available in Japan!

Sam graduated with bachelors degrees in Performing Arts and Education at the University of California Riverside. After she graduated, she worked various part time jobs while building her career as a dance instructor. However, she felt that she was missing the opportunity to travel abroad in her early 20s. Now 25, she decided that she would re-apply for a position to teach English abroad. Her plan is to teach for a few years and come back to the United States to take the next step.
